Michigan Shooter’s Parents, James and Jennifer Crumbley, Sentencing

Article Summary –

James and Jennifer Crumbley, parents of the accused in the 2021 Oxford High School shooting in Michigan, continue to shift blame, according to Steve St. Juliana, father of one of the victims. St. Juliana argued that the Crumbleys’ choices, indifference, and gross negligence enabled their son to murder four students, including his daughter Hana. St. Juliana requested the maximum sentence for the Crumbleys, whose “defiance” increased throughout the trial, and expressed his profound grief over the loss of his daughter.

Victim’s Father Speaks Out During Crumbleys’ Sentencing

Steve St. Juliana, the father of Hana St. Juliana, speaks during a victim impact statement in court on Tuesday.

Steve St. Juliana, father of Hana St. Juliana, criticized James and Jennifer Crumbley for deflecting blame during their sentencing for the 2021 Oxford High School shooting.

“Their indifference and gross negligence allowed their son to kill my daughter Hana and three other children,” St. Juliana asserted in his victim impact statement.

“They chose to ignore the warning signs. They continue to blame everyone but themselves,” he added.

St. Juliana expressed the profound grief over his daughter’s death, stating it “destroyed a large portion of my soul.”

“I am forever denied the chance to hold her or her future children in my arms,” he lamented.

St. Juliana’s stance on the Crumbleys’ sentencing shifted as their “defiance” grew. “Hana, Madisyn, Tate, and Justin have lost everything — not the defendants,” he said, advocating for the parents to receive the maximum sentence.

Following St. Juliana’s statement, Buck Myre, father of victim Tate Myre, gave the final impact statement during the sentencing.
